Sophia's 2010 Wrap Up

I meant to do this post back at the beginning of January but just never got around to it.  I wanted to post some pictures from this past year to see how Sophia has grown and to revist some of the things we were able to do with her.  So here is a very condensed version of our 2010!

May must have been a busy month for us...Puddle Jumpers, Touch a Truck, Mother's Day and Strawberry Picking were just a few of the things we did.

We took a spur of the moment trip to Savannah this month.  It was alot of fun..Savannah is one of my favorite cities and I couldn't wait for Sophia to see it.

Our trip to England was the biggest event this month.  We have a ton of pictures from that trip so I reposted Phil's video below in case you missed it before.

Celebrated Thanksgiving Day and took our Christmas card pictures this month.

Ice Day..That Turned Into a Week 2011!

For those of you who haven't heard we had a pretty bad ice storm here in Atlanta.  Schools were closed all week!  I must admit I thought Sophia and I were going to go bonkers by the end of the week but we didn't and it didn't hurt that we were able to get down our driveway by Wednesday afternoon.  Even if it was to just go to the grocery store.  Here are a few pictures from this past week.  In addition to all of these activities we did a whole lot of computer and TV time!

This is the first day..you can tell by the smiles. 

We no longer have our sleds from when we lived in Indiana so we improvised!  She loved it! Oh and Phil didn't fall thank heavens.

This was actually an improvement.

Ribs for dinner one night.  Found a recipe very easy put ribs in crock pot cover with BBQ sauce let cook for about 8 hours. Very tasty!

I thought this was sweet of Sophia and Cleveland next to the fire.  Please forgive the mess you would think the house would be spotless being trapped inside...cleaning didn't happen.

Phil and Sophia got matching Star Wars aprons for Christmas. She hasn't a clue who any of characters are.  Phil is determined to teach her. :)

Made cookies on day 4.  Here is the recipe if you are interested Play Doh Cookies.  She had a lot of fun making these.  Very good lesson in mixing colors such as red and blue make purple.  She mixed alot when I wasn't looking.  We got two greens, one purple, and one brown.  I threw the brown away. :)

We had a lot of fun together this week.  I'm trying to cherish this time at home with Sophia because I know it is to quickly coming to an end.  I will admit though I'm ready to get back into our routine.  I hope you were all safe this week!

Ch Ch Ch Changes!

Sorry I haven't around lately but I'm back now and hopefully you will notice some changes! My very gifted husband helped me to design a new header and layout for my blog.  I've been wanting something different for awhile now but really wasn't sure how to go about doing it.  I've got most of it done but there are still a few things I want to change.

I have a post coming soon as well.  We've been iced in for three days so I've taken a lot of pictures of the few things we have done including pulling sophia down the street on a storage lid. :)

Saturday

We had a very crazy/busy Saturday but it was really a lot of fun! We started off by celebrating Sophia's 4th birthday party at Jumping Jellybeans in Peachtree City. I think she had a lot of fun with her friends. She always loves to jump and almost everyone came. This is such a busy time of year it gets really hard trying to plan a birthday party in the mix.

The highly anticipated Princess Cake. She LOVED it!!



After the party was over we rushed back down to Senoia to have Sophia's picture taken with Santa at You're Invited. We got there early and the staff was nice enough to go ahead and let us go first. Sophia loves Santa now..there was a time that if he just looked at her she would cry. Granted I think that time was when she was two and I would have cried as well. :) She got to tell him everything she wanted and even told him about her birthday party. Pictures will come later for that it was a package deal so we have to wait on pics.

After we left Santa we went home to rest for about an hour and then we were off to another birthday party in Fayetteville at Chuck E Cheese. There are also no pictures from this event just because if you have ever been to a Chuck E. Cheese you know how crazy it can get and especially on a Saturday. Sophia did have a lot of fun and got to play almost every game. She was really tired by this point though and we did have a few meltdowns. We left before cake and opening presents because we were meeting Phil in Senoia for the Christmas parade.

Sophia fell asleep in the way home and I think the power nap did her a bit of good because she was acting better at the parade. If you have read my blog for very long you know this is a yearly tradition for us. We have pics of ourselves at this parade from 2005 when we were thinking about having a baby. It is fun to see how we and Sophia have changed every year. Sophia's new tradition is getting to ride the ponies at Memorial Day and Christmas. They bring the same ponies to both events and her favorite is Razzle. Luckily she has always been able to ride him. I think she thinks he is her horse. :)

So that was our Saturday very fun but I was wiped by the end! :) I hope you all had a nice Saturday as well!
