Morning at the Coffee Shop

Carly, Andrew, Sophia and I walked into town the other morning to go to the Coffee Shop. They have REALLY good coffee and the food is excellent too! They have cakes, pies, cookies and muffins on display and it is hard not to want to try one of everything. :)Both Sophia and Andrew have been going to this coffee shop since they were in the womb. The ladies that work there are really sweet and love both kids. They often give Sophia something free to eat when I'm just ordering coffee and don't seem to mind her running around. Anywho I took a few pictures while we were there and thought they were cute.

Andrew and Sophia hanging out at the Coffee Shop.

Sophia showing Andrew the bell the ladies working there that day gave her to play with. Is that fear I see in his eyes?!

More Birthday Pictures

Sophia opening one of her other presents. This is a Dora the Explorer bath toy. Our really nice neighbors brought this over for her. She has played with it every night since the party. :)

Sophia and her beloved crayons.

Sophia and Lorilie nudging Alex out of the way.

This isn't a very good picture but I thought it was cute because they were all coloring together.

Sophia's Birthday Party!!

I'm sorry this post has taken so long but I lost my camera this week and couldn't find it. Of course it had the camera card in it from the birthday party. I finally found it on the floor between the desk and filing drawer. This post is about Sophia's birthday party though so here are a few details and memorable moments. :)

I should really call this the party that almost didn't happen! Earlier in the week I noticed Sophia had a really runny nose but didn't think much of it. I thought she was probably getting another tooth or had some allergies. By the end of the week though she had a full blown cold. We ended up taking her to the doctor Friday morning and they said that it was basically a cold and that her left ear looked a little infected so they gave her some cough syrup (She can have this now that she is two! YAY!) and some amoxycillan which should take care of the ear infection. After her nap on Friday she seemed worse and was having trouble breathing. She seemed to be gasping for air. Phil and I put her humidifier in her room and prayed for the best that night. On top of all this Jennifer the lady I had coming as "entertainment" was also sick! We didn't know if we should cancel the party or not. My parents were coming to visit from out of town and it is a pretty long drive. I also didn't want to infect any other kiddos. By Saturday morning she seemed to be doing a bit better but we just took it easy and she ended up getting another bath which seemed to help with the breathing because of the steam. I ended up telling my parents not to come because we were still thinking about cancelling. The tipping point was when I called Kroger the local grocery to ask them if they had already started the party platters I had ordered. They said they had already finished two soooo we decided to have the party based on that fact. :)

It ended up being a lot of fun! I had Jennifer Stuart come she does a program called Tiny Tunes Music Time. Sophia goes to her classes on Friday mornings. They play instruments and dance around and she really loves it. Everyone came but one boy who was suffering with some sickness himself. The kiddos had fun dancing and playing. I think Tricia and Sophia started a game of chase because at one point I saw kids running through the living room and through the kitchen. :) At one point Cleveland, our dog, got released from the bedroom he was trapped in and the kids went wild. They chased him for a bit but were overall very good with him. I didn't see anyone try to pull his tail once. :) After Jennifer left the kids had cake and ice cream and played some more. Sophia didn't end up opening gifts until most people had left. Everyone was having a good time talking and the kids were playing that I hated to interrupt. Anyway Sophia hasn't really learned what a present is anyway. She opens one and then walks away. :) It was kind of funny she started opening presents and was doing a good job until she got to my friend Megan's present. Megan's present had a Mickey Mouse, a coloring book and some crayons....if you know Sophia you know she LOVES crayons!! She took off with them and the coloring book and I didn't see her again for awhile. Sophia and another girl named Lorilei stood next to the coffee table and colored together. It was really sweet but they kept shoving poor Alex Lorilei's brother out of the way. It turned out to be a really fun day!

Favor bags I made for the kids. They contain: A coloring book, crayons and some teddy grahams. Phil did the labels for me. :)

Sophia's Winnie-The-Pooh birthday cake. I thought they did a really good job with it and it tasted really good as well.

A Winnie-The-Pooh banner I bought and some pics of Sophia from this past year.

Jenny catching bubbles with the kids. I think this was the highlight for the kids. The parents were really impressed too! The bubbles didn't pop as easily as regular bubbles so they lasted longer and you could catch them on your fingers.

Check out the size of that piece of cake her daddy gave her! Talk about sugar high! :) Just so you know she didn't eat all of that probably not even half. Phil and I finished it up for her. :)

More Pictures from the Senoia Parade

Here are a few pictures I forgot to post from the Senoia Christmas Parade. I just thought they were cute. Sophia waited very patiently for the parade. She was happy to have her balloon and somewhere to sit. :)

Sophia had a good time riding on daddy's shoulders. I'm not really sure why Phil was hunched over so much...she could have been a bit heavy. :)

Hahaha! I just thought this was really funny and yes her mitten is on the wrong hand. :) She was eating apple slices so she took it off but it was SO cold that night I made her put it back on and I didn't care which way it went. :)

Senoia Christmas Parade Through the Years.

Phil and I have been going to the Senoia Christmas Parade for four year now. Here is a look back through some of our family pictures taken at the parade.

This was taken the Christmas of 2005. I would find out the following March that I was pregnant. :)

This was taken the Christmas of 2006. I had already been scheduled to have Sophia on the 18th of this month. :)

Our first Christmas Parade picture with Sophia. She was just about to turn 1!!

This year! Sophia is going to be 2 very soon. We have recently found out that it is very hard to take a family picture with a toddler. :)

We hope you are all having a nice December! Ours has gotten started off good and we are getting ready to have Sophia's birthday party next weekend. We should have plenty of pictures to post then. :)

What does the horse say?

Phil and I took Sophia to the Annual Senoia Christmas Parade this past Saturday. We have a lot of fun every year and this year was even more fun because they had pony rides for the kiddos. Sophia had a really good time and waved at her daddy as we walked passed and did her chitter chatter to the pony as he walked. She even petted his mane when I put her on and got her off. I was very proud of her when her turn was up she didn't cry or whine. I told her to say goodbye to the pony and she did and that was the end of it. :) While she was riding the pony I was trying to teach her what horses say. She knows a lot of animal noises but has never seemed to master the horse noise. So I told her that a horse says neigh and then asked her "What does a horse say Sophia?" She told me heigh!! :) The way she says it is very cute! It sounds like Fonze from Happy Days is saying it. :) So of course I have her say it over and over now I'm going to try to get it on video so I can post it on here.

Here are a few pics from Sophia riding the ponies.

She had just gotten on the pony here and I was trying to show her where to hold on at. This lady worked at the pony ride and just thought Sophia was cute. :)

Riding the pony. Notice that they put little Santa hats on the ponies. I thought it was cute...the pony probably hated it. :)

Relaxing!

This is what I saw while I was drying my hair Sunday morning:

They looked so cute sitting together. Sophia was coloring and watching cartoons and then decided she rather snuggle with daddy. Can you tell she had some blueberries for breakfast?!

Look what GA. Nanny Made Me!!

When my mom came up and visted Sophia and I in August we made a few dresses for Sophia. I made the Halloween candy corn pillowcase dress and this is what Nanny made:

I just love the heart buttons!

Couldn't resist posting this...she was pouting because I wanted to take her picture. I only got these two pictures after chasing her around the house a few times. She seems to run from the camera these days. :)

Go Dawgs!!

I think we have a bulldogs fan on our hands! :) If you can't understand her baby talk she is saying Go Dawgs!! I'm just a little excited because we have been working on it for awhile. She could say go and she could say dog but wouldn't put them together until tonight.
I've been wanting her to say it because there is a really sweet man at our church that the kids call the "candy man" If the kids are good during service they can get a piece of candy from him. Anyway...he is a real big bulldogs fan and he and his wife have always been really good to our family so I thought he might like this. :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Our week started out a little rocky...Sophia got sick Monday night and we all ended up sleeping in the guest bedroom together. :) The next day she seemed like she felt better but still wasn't eating a lot but was keeping her pedialyte down. Then on Wed. it got bad again and I ended up taking her to the doctor. Of course they told me it was a virus and to let it run its course. That is easy to say when your not the one washing a baby, bed linens, and the carpet every hour. Luckily she was well by Thursday morning and was eating everything in sight. :) I was just going to keep her on the BRAT diet but she insisted on having the annual Thanksgiving pancakes with daddy she also wanted some vegimite on toast and a few BBQ chips. :)
We ended up having a very nice relaxing day. We stayed in Senoia this year and cooked a turkey at home. We didn't eat our turkey until around 6 that night so it gave us plenty of free time. We decided to take Sophia to the park since it was such a pretty day and it ended up being a nice temp as well. We didn't even need our jackets. :) We stayed there for about two hours and then came home and had PB&J for lunch and took a nap. That evening we celebrated Thanksgiving with a turkey dinner, cornbread dressing, green bean casserole, and cornbread. YUM! :) Sophia isn't a turkey lover yet so she got to have hot dog for dinner haha!

Now we are getting ready for my birthday, Sophia's birthday party, and Christmas! This is a very busy time of year for us. I'll have plenty of pics to post for the month to come.

In the meantime here are a few pics from turkey day.

Playing with the leaves at the Senoia park.

I was throwing the leaves into the air trying to get a picture of them coming down around her. She was waiting for them to fall in this picture. :)

Turkey dinner or should I say hot dog.

Sophia has the color of her daddy's eyes but she definately has my smile. The more she grins the more her eyes disappear. :)

Yummy yogurt for dessert and yes she did shove that whole glob into her mouth. :)

Using an Outfit Again!!

Those of you who have/had children know that buying them clothes at this age can get very expensive. Most of the stuff Sophia fit in this past summer she will not fit by next summer. So I was VERY pleased to find out that one of my favorite outfits from last winter still fits her!! :)

This is Sophia this past February. See how the pants are a little long and the outfit is a little baggy. Seeing this picture gave me hope that it would still fit. :)

This is Sophia last week (November 2008). The sleeves are a little short but other than that it still fits!!!

You may think I'm a little silly but this has really made my day. :)

GA Nanny's Birthday!!

Phil, Sophia and I surprised my mom for her birthday this year. We drove down to St. Marys on the 13th and stayed with my sister Lisa. We were going to surprise my mom the next day when we took her to lunch for her birthday. When we got there the first night we couldn't wait to surprise her so Lisa called and asked if she wanted to come over and go out to dinner with her and her family. Phil, Sophia and I hid in the kitchen when she got there and then walked out. I think we really surprised her because she looked a little stunned. :) It was fun surprising her and we had a nice time while we were down there. We took my mom to a restaurant that is in downtown St. Marys. It is called Marianne's but a lot of locals know it as Sterling's Southern Cafe. Here is the link if you want to check it out: www.SterlingsSouthernCafe.com
The food was sooo good! I had the crab cakes with a side salad and sweet tea. The desserts are absolutely to die for and if you love chocolate like I do they have a chocolate cake with chocolate icing with some extra chocolate shoved in the middle for good measure. :) My mom had the coconut cake and Lisa had the carrot cake. I need to stop writing about food because I'm making myself hungry. :)
After we ate we did some window shopping downtown and a little bit of actual shopping. We all had a good time and enjoyed getting to see everyone. It is really fun to watch Sophia and Josh play now. They ran around the house playing chase the majority of the time we were there. Sophia also loved getting to play with all of Josh's cars. :)
Here are a few pictures from that weekend. I love you mom I hope you had a nice birthday!!

Sophia with her cousins. L to R Harrison (8), Josh (3), Sophia (2), and Hudson (12).

Swinging and playing with daddy at Aunt Lisa and Uncle Jay's house.

Feeding the Ducks. She was a little scared of them at first but then warmed up to them. They would get really close. :)

She had to try out her cousin Josh's spiderman quad. :)

Voting

Well Sophia and I went to vote this morning. We met up with Robert, Carly and Andrew around 9:00 and walked to the senior center where we would be voting. We figured it would be easier to walk there instead of driving and trying to find somewhere to park. We left about 5 after 9 and got there around 9:45. So the walk wasn't bad and we got to enjoy the nice weather. :)

The wait wasn't as bad as we thought it was going to be. We only waited for about 2 hours which is better than some of the other places I've heard about. The kiddos did pretty well but Sophia was over the whole experience by the time it was time for me to vote. :) She kept yelling du du..which is down is Sophia language. There was a big field next to the senior center so I let her out of her stroller to run some with the other kids. She did well though for being such a busy toddler. :) Phil met us after I voted and drove us back home. He was originally coming to get Sophia and take her home but by the time he got there I was already done so I just rode with him. On the way to the senior center Sophia managed to drop one of her books but Robert and Carly found it on there way back home. :)

It has been a busy day so far but I can't wait to see what happens tonight! I know Sophia wont remember this day but I hope when she looks back at pictures she will realize that she was part of a very important day in History.

Andrew and Sophia on the way to vote!

Sophia playing in a field with a line of people in the background. That line goes all the way around the building.

This is what Sophia did while we waited...I think she is saying CHEESE! :)

This is what Andrew did while we waited. Zzzz! He woke up at the end though and decided that fussing a little might be a good idea to hurry things along. :)

I'm a Georgia Voter!!!

Happy Halloween!! Muh haha!!

Sophia and I had a great day on Friday. It started out with her going to her Tiny Tunes class. Since her class is on a Friday and Halloween landed on a Friday this year her teacher let the kids dress up in their costumes. It was so much fun getting to see what all the kids would be for Halloween. The class was fun as usual and Sophia participated a lot. It is amazing to see Sophia now in that class as opposed to when we first started. She participates so much more and really knows the music now. She still runs around a lot but will do all the motions to the songs. She even likes to help put things away. :)

After class we came home and had lunch. Carly and baby Andrew came and visted us for a bit. We were making plans for later that night. Carly, Robert and Andrew came with us this year to go trick or treating in the neighborhood.

Later that night we all joined up and the fun began we went to several house but not all of them. We still stuck to house where we knew people would want to see Sophia and if anyone was sitting outside we would go visit them as well. Sophia had a great time and has really got this trick or treat thing down pat. She should really by now. :) She can't say trick or treat yet but she knows how to open doors. :) We would go up to houses and I would tell her to knock on the door while I rang the door bell. She would just turn the door knob and try to walk in. :) Everyone was very sweet to her and several people had little bags already made up for her. Mrs. Stewart across the street out did herself. She gave Sophia a Halloween card, stickers, and some glow in the dark bracelets. After all that Sophia stood there with her face down. I think she was pouting a little because she didn't think she was going to get any candy. When she saw the chocolate though she perked up. :) The night continued on like that and I let Sophia stay up a little later so she could see the other trick or treaters. She didn't know what to think about seeing all the kids dressed up.

Saturday night we went out to dinner with Robert, Carly and Andrew to Carrabbas. We were celebrating Robert's 25th birthday. Sophia did really well they gave her crayons and a kids menu so that kept her occuppied for most of dinner. I also brought along these placemat things that stick to the table and she can color on that as well. :) After dinner we went to Rita's they serve custard and shaved ice. You know you go somewhere to much when your child recognizes the parking lot. Sophia started yelling YAY!! YAY!!! when we pulled up. :) She doesn't care anything about the food but they have a big gated area where she can run and play and that is what she likes the most. Well October is over and now it is time to start thinking about Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year has flown by!

Sophia on her way to Wanda and Kent Stewart's house..look at that smile she knows what it coming. :) They spoil her. :)

Trick or Treat Ms. Sheri!

Looking for something to eat.

Robert with Andrew and Phil with Sophia.

Daddy and Sophia! My mom said she looks like me in this picture. I think it is the eyes..the more she smiles the more they disappear...just like mine. :)

Trick or Treat in Senoia

Wednesday of last week I took Sophia Trick or Treating in downtown Senoia. My friend Kandis and her little girl Reagan met us so we could trick or treat together. We had a good time the girls were a little whiny but they did better once we got going. The library was organizing this event and they did a great job. When we got there they were letting the kids color pumpkin pictures and then letting them stick them on brown paper bags to use when we went trick or treating. Sophia didn't want anything to do with the brown bag and got very upset anytime I tried to paste her pumpkin onto it. :) She just wanted to color the pumpkin and luckily I had brought her trick or treat pumpkin anyway. After the coloring was done one of the ladies read a halloween story and then we were off trick or treating. We went to several stores in town and they were all very generous. :) Phil got some good candy! After we were done everyone went back to the library and they had juice and halloween cookies for the kids. Sophia was starving by this time it was 11:30 so she wanted to eat everthing in sight. I got her home and made her lunch and she was much happier after that. She is pretty good when she is tired and uncomfortable but don't mess with her when she is hungry. She turns into a little beasty! :) Here are a few pics from that day.
Sophia and Reagan eating their cookies. Sophia was a 50's girl and Reagan was a lion ROAR!!

Sophia doing her favorite thing...coloring.

Okay I just thought this was to funny!!! This is after trick or treating. She was starving(note the cookie crumbs), cold(runny nose), and aggrevated I wouldn't open any more candy. :) Haha!

Avenue Trick or Treating

Okay if you can't tell I'm catching up on missed posts from the past month! I'm a slacker and I'm blaming it on being sick AGAIN! We can't seem to get better I get sick, Phil gets sick, Sophia get some wierd bug, I get sick round and round we go. :) Luckily we were all feeling good yesterday and had a great time. The sun finally decided to come out and play after staying hidden all day Friday. We went for a walk into town to check out the new construction going on and to get a bit of exercise and then we stopped by the park on the way home so Sophia could play. It was gloomy and rainy all day Friday so I made sure to take an old towel with me to the park so I could wipe down the slides for her. There is just so much water a towel can hold though! :) Sophia also wanted to go down all the stairs on her bottom and down the slides I hadn't wiped off so she still came home looking like she had wet her pants. It was okay though I just changed her fed her and put her in the bed for a nap also known as mommy's free time. YAY! :)
When she woke up Phil and I took her to the Avenue in Peachtree City to go Trick or Treating. If your not from around here the Avenue is a big outdoor shopping area. The kids get to go around from store to store and the employees hand out candy. There was also face painting, free balloons, and pictures you could have taken. Sophia really enjoyed it and liked getting to see all the other kids. She would say Hi Ya!! as we walked by. :) She got a little bit of candy that daddy promptly ate for her. We did let her have the sucker she got though so we aren't that mean. :) We went grocery shopping afterwards and then came home and fed her dinner from the BRAT menu again. :)
We went to church this morning and heard an awesome sermon from Bo and a great lesson from Thomas Cagle. Sophia did great in her class and I didn't get buzzed once. :) She also stayed in the nursery without a fuss and Suzette and Debbie said that she was their little helper. She undoubtly closed doors for them, gave them high fives, and played well with the other babies. :) I'm also in the process of planning her second birthday!!! I can't believe it wasn't I just doing this?! This year has flown by! It is going to be a Winnie the Pooh Party this year because she is obsessed with him. I was going to have it at the park because she is just as obsessed with the park..I kid you not the child must dream of the park because she wakes up in the morning asking to go. :) Thank goodness we live so close to it. Here are a few pics I hope you all have had a good weekend. We are going Trick or Treating in downtown Senoia on Wed. at 10:30 am if anyone wants to come. We are meeting at the Library. So I should have a few pics from that and then the big day is on Friday! Muh haha! :)

Picture of Sophia doing her new favorite thing Coloring!! I actually got a pretty good smile too. :

This is what we do when we run out of candy...wear the pumpkin on our head. :)

Eating her delicious sucker.

Searching for something yummy!

My cute baby girl!
